More Than Tea
I found both of these teas among the organic section in my local Food Lion grocery store. I decided to these because were considered flavored teas. I don’t usually try a lot of commercial brands but I had a feeling that Pom Wonderful would be something great. Steaz is a brand that I see rarely so I thought it would be great to review compared by brand.
POMx Tea
Price: $2.99
Calories: 70
Sugar: 17 grams
Being completely honest, this tea was a really great “bottle tea” experience. I actually expected a rich brewed tea flavor but what I tasted was more like a juice, tea blend. The bottle does says that the drink contains POM Wonderful Pomegranate juice which I found this to be a good balance of flavor. I did noticed the hit of green tea however, the juice content seemed more present. I was not completely sure about the “Lychee” juice because I have not tasted it before. Maybe it did contribute to the overall flavor because I really enjoyed this drink. In closing to this product I would say that the juice flavor masked the overall tea flavor. In my eyes, this is more of a juice with a hint of tea.
Ingredients: Gently brewed green tea (water, pan-fired green tea leaves), Pomegranate juice from concentrate, fructose, POMx (POM Wonderful antioxidant extract – patent pending), lychee juice from concentrate, natural flavors, citric acid.
Steaz Tea
Price: $1.69

Sugar: 10 grams
When I tried Steaz, it tasted more like a tea. The flavors of blueberry and pomegranate are definitely present but not overpowering the tea flavor. I can’t notice the flavor of acai because of the distinct blueberry flavor. I do notice a hint of lemon. The sweetness is almost perfect. Unlike POMx tea to bit too sweet based on my liking. Steaz seemed to have a more natural tasting and great flavor of brewed tea. It’s hard to find a bottle tea that taste close to naturally brewed tea these days.
Ingredients: filtered water, organic evaporated cane juice, natural flavors, Sambazon organic acai juice, organic lemon juice and organic green tea.
Conclusion
If you are looking for a great certified organic tea with a twist, I would recommend that you try either one of these teas. For those who like a great tea flavor that’s just sweet enough, go with Steaz. For people who like tea that is really juicy and a tad sweeter than normal, go with POMx. I think the mix of green tea and pomegranate juice in both of these drinks are a great way to combine the power of antioxidants.
